Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

MyFitness is a fitness product family that helps you build AI-assisted workout plans, browse a local exercise library, run guided sessions, manage a training calendar, track progress, and (on iOS) log nutrition and related health details. The apps are distributed through Apple’s App Store platforms under these names:

Features may vary by platform. This policy applies to both apps unless a section states that it applies only to macOS or only to iOS.

2. Information we process

Depending on how you use the app and which platform you use, we may process the following categories of information:

• Profile details you enter, such as name, age, gender, height, weight, body-fat percentage, experience level, fitness goals, training place, equipment preferences, injuries or limitations, workout schedule preferences, and optional preference notes.
• Optional profile photo or avatar stored on your device for display inside the app.
• Workout plans, weekly schedules, completed sessions, streaks, and progress metrics generated or recorded while you train.
• On iOS: nutrition and food-log entries you create (including items logged manually, by voice, or from photos you choose), recent foods, weight entries, and related calorie or macro tracking data kept on your device.
• On iOS: camera, photo library, microphone, and speech-recognition access only when you use features that require them (for example meal photos or voice food logging). We do not use these permissions for advertising.
• Subscription and purchase status for MyFitness Premium, managed through Apple’s billing system.
• Technical information needed for AI plan generation requests, such as fitness-profile fields used to personalize a plan structure.
• Pseudonymous analytics information about app usage and technical environment, as described in section 8.

3. How information is stored

Most of your MyFitness data stays on your device. Profile information, workout plans, workout history, nutrition logs (where available), and related progress data are stored locally using on-device persistence. Custom profile photos are saved in the app’s local storage on your Mac or iPhone/iPad.

We do not operate a MyFitness account system that uploads your full training or nutrition history to our own servers. Deleting the app or clearing its local data removes information stored on your device, subject to how macOS, iOS, and your backups retain files.

4. AI workout plan generation

When you generate an AI workout plan, MyFitness may send selected fitness-profile and preference data to OpenAI’s API solely to produce plan structure (for example age, gender, height, weight, experience, goals, equipment, schedule, intensity, injuries, priorities, and related training preferences). Your name and profile photo are not included in that payload.

Exercise matching and assignment are completed locally from the app’s bundled exercise catalog. OpenAI processes the request under its own terms and privacy practices. If AI generation fails, the app may create a local fallback plan without sending a new network request for that fallback.

5. Purchases and subscriptions

MyFitness Premium subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed by Apple through the Mac App Store or the App Store (iOS) and StoreKit, depending on which app you purchased. We receive entitlement and transaction status needed to unlock Premium features. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. Apple’s privacy policy and App Store terms govern payment processing, billing, and subscription management.

6. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

• Personalize workout plans, schedules, and training recommendations.
• Display your profile, progress, calendar, streaks, and session history inside the app.
• On iOS: support nutrition setup, food logging, calorie tracking, and related progress views.
• Provide guided workouts and access to the local exercise library.
• Verify Premium entitlements and restore purchases.
• Improve reliability of plan generation and app functionality.
• Understand product usage and improve MyFitness through analytics, as described in section 8.

7. Sharing of information

We share information only as needed to operate the app:

• With OpenAI, when you request AI plan generation, limited to the fitness-profile fields required for that request.
• With Apple, for App Store distribution, purchases, subscriptions, and related platform services.
• With Google, for app analytics as described in section 8.
• When required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users or the app.

We do not sell your personal information.

8. Analytics, advertising, and tracking

MyFitness uses Google Analytics (GA4) to collect limited, pseudonymous analytics about how the app is used. This may include technical information (such as app version and device/OS details), general in-app usage and engagement signals, and non-payment subscription status (for example, whether Premium is active).

Analytics data is associated with randomly generated identifiers created by the app or the analytics service. It is not linked to your name, email address, Apple ID, or any MyFitness account (MyFitness does not operate a user account system). We do not use this data for third-party advertising networks or for tracking you across other companies’ apps or websites. Analytics events are processed by Google under Google’s terms and privacy practices so we can understand product performance and improve MyFitness.

9. Data retention and deletion

Local profile, plan, history, nutrition log, and photo data remain on your device until you edit them, delete them in the app where available, remove the app, or otherwise clear the app’s stored files. Subscription records are retained by Apple according to Apple’s policies. AI request data processed by OpenAI is subject to OpenAI’s retention practices. Analytics data is retained according to our analytics provider’s retention settings and our operational needs.

10. Children’s privacy

MyFitness is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

11. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate for a locally focused Apple-platform app, including storing most user content on-device and using platform APIs for purchases. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Your choices

• You can edit or clear profile details and preferences inside Settings.
• You can choose not to use AI plan generation; local starter and fallback planning options may still be available.
• On iOS, you can deny or later revoke camera, photo, microphone, or speech-recognition permission in system Settings; related features will then be limited or unavailable.
• You can manage, cancel, or restore MyFitness Premium through your Apple ID subscription settings on Mac, iPhone, or iPad.
• You can remove optional profile photos stored by the app.
• Analytics collection is part of normal app operation. You can stop further analytics collection by uninstalling MyFitness.

13. International users

MyFitness is offered through the Mac App Store and the App Store on iOS. If you use AI plan generation, limited profile data may be processed by OpenAI in jurisdictions where its infrastructure operates. Analytics data may also be processed by Google in jurisdictions where its infrastructure operates. By using those features, you understand that such processing may occur outside your country of residence, subject to applicable law and the service provider’s safeguards.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of MyFitness after an update means you accept the revised policy, except where applicable law requires additional notice or consent.
